Conflict Mineral Statement
|
In recent years, the social and environmental issues arising from the raw materials and processes used in product manufacturing have increasingly gained global attention. Minerals sourced from conflict-affected and high-risk areas have particularly contributed to severe armed conflicts. MiTAC does not directly purchase metal raw materials, and we recognize that most of our suppliers do not have direct purchasing relationships with mining companies. However, we understand that, as a company, we have the opportunity to positively influence this issue, and therefore we have undertaken the following actions.
MiTAC has proactively taken measures on the sources and origins of the mentioned minerals to ensure a conflict-free supply chain.
- MiTAC suppliers must conduct their operations in a socially and environmentally responsible way.
- MiTAC suppliers shall establish an adequate and effective Conflict Minerals Policy and Management Program that is designed and implemented due diligence for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas.
- MiTAC suppliers shall adopt a policy and exercise due diligence on the source and chain of custody of tantalum, tin, tungsten, gold(3TG) , cobalt and mica in the products they manufacture are sourced in a way consistent with the OECD Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals or an equivalent and recognized due diligence framework.
- MiTAC suppliers should impose the same requirement on their upstream suppliers.
