Mr. Matthew Miau came back to Taiwan from America in 1976 and founded MiTAC International Corp.(MIC) in 1982 which was one of the first few companies to locate in the Hsinchu Science Park. He has been the chairman of MiTAC Holdings Corp. and MIC since the reorganization of MIC in 2013. He is also the chairman of MiTAC Inc., UPC Technology Corp., Lien Hwa Industrial Corp and Synnex Technology International Corp. and Chairman Emeritus of Synnex Corporation.
Matthew has been working hard on the infrastructure and development of information technology and communication industry in Taiwan. He has been named by CommonWealth, the leading business magazine in Taiwan, in the Top Ten Who's Who Of Information Industry in Taiwan in 1998, awarded the honorary doctorate of National Chiao Tung University in 2002, awarded Belgium’s Medal of King Leo Paul in 2009, won the Science and Technology Management Award by the Chinese Society for Management of Technology in 2011, won the National Excellence Achievement Award by the Chinese Professional Management Association of Business Management in 2013, and on the Eighth Pan Wen Yuan prize. Mr. Miao has authored two books: the Win-Win Strategy in 1997 won the 1998 Golden Book Award by the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs in 1998, while the Win-Win Game in 2003 was aimed at exploring the development and operation mechanism of global enterprises by looking into the success story of MiTAC Synnex Group.
Mr. Matthew Miau earned his MBA at Santa Clara University, CA, USA and Bachelor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at U.C. Berkley. He worked at Intel for the development of the famed 8080 microprocessor before returning to Taiwan in 1976.
